Mission Statement

Why Create A Mission Statement?

It Defines your statement of purpose and direction for you and your business. Most important when you define your personal statement, you are giving value to you "IN" your business.

Another reason, if you are considering applying for a loan for your sewing businss, a mission statement may be required as a portion of the loan agreement.

If that is the case It may be beneficial for you to write two statements, one for the business and one for personal.

Answering a few questions will help you recognize what you want to convey to your clients about you as a business owner and what you will do for them as clients.

In other words, how you see your self and what you are willing to do for the success of your business.

WHAT IS YOUR MISSION PURPOSE:

1. What defines you as a person?

2. What do you want to accomplish?

3. What is the future growth for your business?

4. What is going to bring the most recognition for your business?

These are just a sample of questions to ask yourself when thinking about what defines you and your business.

EXAMPLE MISSION STATEMENT

CREATIVE WINDOW TREATMENTS MISSIOM STATEMENT"

Our Mission is to offer the best of service for our clients by being current on new and inovative products and techniques, as well as color, fashion and style in the window treatment industry.

So we can determine from this they want to provide the best of service for their clients plus bringing the newiest, latest and greatest in the industry.

You will find as you grow in your business your goals will change and as those change your purpose may change. However if you are in the service industry, you will never go wrong if you place the client first.

Establishing Goals

When I was sewing I had much different goals than today. I wanted to be the best, not only in delivering the best product but in giving my clients the best of service. Giving to my employees before I gave to myself.

My Mission Statement today is:

To share my knowledge and always be willing to encourage others. Be committed to support others and be inspired by other leaders. To have boldness, determination and urgency to succeed no matter what the endeavor.

Simply define what you expect your businss to be today and what you want your business to be in the future.

Your personal mission statement will define the initial goals you wish to accomplish in your business. As your organization grows so will your goals will change. Your purpose should still be to "Provide the Best of Service".

Bottom line do not leave out this step. Your success depends on your vision and goals.

My suggestion make a copy and display it in your shop, not only for your clients to read, but to remind you why you are in the sewing business.

Whether you are sewing seams or sowing seeds I encourage you to reap a harvest!
