When I had my shop I did mostly hand hemming, but we would sometimes do jobs with 5 to 6 widths of fabric, that is when the blind hem stitch machine became very useful.
This little "feather weight" Singer Sewing Machine was used at the turn of last century. The first portable machine to take along on holidays for mending and repairs.
